(WED) is a day that stimulates awareness of the atmosphere and enhances political attention and public action. It is on 5 June. It was the day that United Nations Conference on the Human Atmosphere began. The United Nations Conference on the Human Atmosphere was from 5-16 June 1972. It was established by the United Nations Common Assembly in 1972. The initially Globe Environment Day was on 1973. Globe Atmosphere Day is hosted every single year by a various city with a several theme and is commemorated with an international exposition on the week that five June is on. World Environment Day is in summer in the Northern Hemisphere and winter in the Southern Hemisphere.
"Stockholm was without having doubt the landmark occasion in the growth of international environmentalism," writes John McCormick in the book Reclaiming Paradise. "It was the first occasion on which the political, social and economic concerns of the global atmosphere had been discussed at an intergovernmental forum with a view to actually taking corrective action."
World Environment Day is similar to Earth Day.
Earth Day is a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's atmosphere. It was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in in 1970 and is celebrated in a large number of nations every year. Earth Day is celebrated in spring in the Northern Hemisphere and autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. Several communities celebrate Earth Week, an entire week of activities focused on environmental issues.
